Pseudodiploria strigosa is the most common Pseudodiploria species on West Atlantic reefs.
The species is very often the dominant coral on shallow water reefs, where large hemispherical colonies often grow to over ten feet in diameter. Frequent "housemates" are Spirobranchus tubeworms.
