Cycliophora (Cycliophora) Cycliophora |
Cycliophora (Gr.: circle-bearing) is a phylum of multicellular animals newly introduced in 1995 by the Danish biologists Reinhardt Kristensen and Peter Funch. Only one genus with two species, Symbion pandora and Symbion americanus (Obst et al., 2006), is currently known, which live on the mouthparts of lobsters and grow to only about 350 µm. |
